Lori from Thee Velvet Glove again. I have one of those standard golden oak dining room tables that used to be popular years ago. I’d thought about selling it many times because dining room sets are not my favorite pieces to do. In fact, they are probably my least favorite and I suppose that’s why I put it off for so long. Eventually, I decided to go ahead and paint it and I’m happy to say I love it now. I painted it in a mix of Worn White and Vanilla Bear, glazed in a 50/50 mixture of Hazelnut ReVax and water then sealed with two coats of Sheer Vax.

This table gets a lot of daily use: my laptop sits on it; I do a lot of work from it; drag a lot of stuff across the top; use it for meals; lay my keys on it, etc., and it has held up wonderfully. I used Vax intentionally to see how it would fair under a lot of wear and tear. It’s a great product. I, personally, would definitely recommend it for table tops. Thank you for looking.

This picture was taken after I painted the base and before I painted the top. I like the top of this table much better painted. It had a very busy grain that I wasn’t crazy about.
