Hollywood Diva

Chalk Painted Vanity

Chalk Painted Vanity

Vanity fit for a Diva!  Who wouldn’t look gorgeous getting ready in front of this beauty?

I used Ice Chalk-Acrylic Paint, Pearl reVAX, then glazed with a mixture of pearl reVAX & black reVAX.

This is quick and easy, don’t over think it, just have fun..practice on something you don’t care about if you are worried about how it will turn out.

I cleaned her very very well with vinegar and water. She had tons of pledge build up and you want the best surface for your paint.  Good rule of thumb is to do this to all your pieces. You never know what build up is on a piece and you should start fresh to avoid any problems.  You can see the oily build up.

Next, she got two coats of Ice Chalk-Acrylic Paint.

Ice

While that dried I painted the existing pulls with two coats of Stunning Silver Shimmer and a dot of black reVAX in the creases for depth.

My favorite part….my therapy.  I distressed using a damp sanding block.  I love to crank up the music and d-stress.  🙂

I then used a damp foam sponge to apply pearl reVAX all over. This will make it easier to use the black reVAX with out getting to heavy.

To get the dark shadow effect I used a mixture of pearl reVAX and black reVAX,

used a damp soft brush and applied heavily then wiped away.

Start with just a little, once dry if you want it to be darker you can repeat. Easier to add more than to try and take it away. This time around I went light, next one I’ll do heavy shadowing. 🙂

Paint Safe!
